This time of year we get multiple phone calls asking about our equipment works in the cold weather. If you are working with a SmartLift or Spydercrane this winter see these tips and tricks below:
SPYDECRANE 295 COLD WEATHER OPERATIONS:
When operating a spydercrane in temperatures below 32 degrees you will want to do the following:
- Spray WD40 in choke and throttle cables to prevent freezing
- Plug in cold weather pack- (Keeps Hydraulic Oil Warm)
- Keep inside overnight if possible
- Run on gas instead of propane
SMARTLIFT COLD WEATHER OPERATIONS
- SmartLifts can not work in tempuratures below -10 degrees
- When working in cold tempuratures make sure there is no frost on the glass
- Batteries will need to be charged sooner than in warmer temps
- Store machines inside overnight
- SL1008 may move slower when starting if storged in temps below 32 degrees
